***WARNING: This might me long. ;) HAHA I really want to stress out the real meaning of beauty. (:
Yes, I am pretty, but I am not only pretty. I am beautiful.
Have you ever seen an ugly baby? Or an ugly bride?…maybe a baby pulling a face or a jokey photo on the internet of a strange looking bride. But seriously, all babies are beautiful. We are genetically planned to find those chubby cheeks and big innocent eyes endearing. Babies are beautiful! On a wedding day, a bride gets to be the center of the show, princess for the day. And she’s glowing with the attention and the culmination of love. This day she gets to be the princess and she claims her prince charming. That glow of love and self-confidence is beautiful, whatever the bride’s physical features are like! Have you guessed where I’m going with this? We are all born beautiful. When you glow with love and self-confidence, whether male or female you are beautiful. Yes, we are beautiful!
Don’t believe me? Not sure? Let me help you see your beauty. We so often tell ourselves negative messages. Are you guilty of any of these? “My bum is too big (or any other part of your body), I need to drop 15 lbs (or 10lb, or 20lb, 50lb, 75lb), I’ve got too many wrinkles (stretch-marks, scars, zits)”. Guess what? That type of self-talk is being you actually having been unrealistically comparing yourself with the media, your friends, fashion magazines, movie stars. We have set ourselves a whole slew of unrealistic expectations and bought the story. So, what’s the answer? Another crazy diet, some bo-tox, a little lift and tuck surgery. No! What we need to do is re-frame our stories and start telling new ones. As mentioned above, you were born beautiful. You grew up beautiful. You are beautiful. If you are not feeling beautiful it’s because you have allowed yourself to believe a bunch of lies about you.
Feeling beautiful is being beautiful. Being you is what makes you beautiful and strong. True courage and inner strength are all about being able to say ‘No’ to conforming to societal stereotypes just because you have to fit in the conventions. Rising above the ordinary, being able to smile through adversity, meeting challenges are all signs of real beauty. A woman’s true beauty lies not only in her appearance, but also deep within her heart. A woman who makes an all out effort and who exerts herself wholeheartedly in her field is indeed beautiful; she really shines. She looks sharp and focused and full of confidence. This kind of radiance will always outshine for me any external beauty related to what a woman is wearing or how her structure is. In fact, those who are aware of their inner beauty do not need to seek borrowed beauty from outside. And sadly, those who care only for their physical appearance are often spiritually impoverished and try to conceal that lack with exterior trappings. I feel that appreciating and realizing your own beauty means establishing a secure and robust inner self that will not be swayed by outer circumstances.
LOOK! Look in the mirror. Take a good look. And instead of sucking in your tummy, or wincing at whatever part of you that makes you unhappy, focus on something loveable and beautiful. Perhaps your hair is strong and healthy, it frames your face beautifully. Perhaps it’s your eyes that is wide and trusting, or your strong arms, powerful legs, happy feet. Find something you like and spend some time admiring your beauty, and allow it to spread to other parts of you. Replace any negative idea that comes into your head with one of appreciation instead.
Now you’ve stopped and looked for something to appreciate, step it up. What’s FABULOUS about you? If you have great legs wear a short skirt. If you have gorgeous eyes, wear a color that makes them noticeable. If it’s your lips or your smile wear a fabulous lipstick color. Great breasts? Makes sure you wear a good bra and fitted clothes. Lovely shoulders? How about a boat neck sweater or blouse? Get the idea? Whatever part of you that you are appreciating, make sure you wear what suits you and that it fits well. Big and baggy clothes make you look bigger, whatever your size. If you are a size 20, then wear clothes that fit that size 20 beautiful body. Same if you are a size 2!
And as you emphasize the things about you that you love and appreciate, the other parts that you aren’t so keen on will fade to the background. Reverse the programming of the media. STOP! Whenever you find yourself comparing you to a celebrity, just stop it! Even celebs don’t look like celebs. LOL. Photoshop has forever changed how people look in pictures. Wow.
And wear things, your clothing, your shoes, your handbag, your make-up that makes you feel absolutely fabulous. Don’t settle for the okay stuff that’s on sale. If it doesn’t make you feel fabulous, get rid of it. Remember I began this response by reminding you that a bride is beautiful because she feels like a princess and she glows with love. Wear clothes that make you feel wonderful. And love yourself for all you are worth!
Radiate love and you’ll not only look fabulous but you will feel fabulous too! Radiate confidence and you’ll feel beautiful. It’s not just how you look, it’s how you feel and that is where true beauty comes from. You were born beautiful. You are beautiful! We are all beautiful. According to the Bible, we are all created in God’s image and likeness and everything God created is good.
Still don’t believe that you are beautiful? Well then, you are underestimating yourself, not appreciating God’s creation. You are an absolutely astonishing individual since it is our amazing Creator that made each and every thing in this marvelous world that we are living in.
This is all for now. Thank you for taking some time, reaching up to this point; reading a very long response to not-so-long question. Don’t forget it, we are all beautiful. God bless you (whoever who asked me this question HAHA) and I hope you grasp from this the really meaning of beauty. ;)

Lizzie Velasquez is an Austin, Texas girl who must eat every 15 minutes to stay alive. Her photo would give the impression that she is anorexic, but she’s not. In fact, her medical condition is a mystery. She is unable to gain weight or store fat in her body.
Lizzie Velasquez, 21-years-old, stands 4 foot 2 inches tall and weighs just 60-pounds. She wears a size triple zero clothes even though she eats between 5,000 and 8,000 calories every day. Her body does not store fat so she has to eat that much, at least every 15 minutes, just to stay alive and healthy. She says she weights herself constantly and is ecstatic if she’s gained even a fraction of a pound.
When she was born she weighted just 2 pounds, 10 ounces and had very little amniotic fluid protecting her in her mother’s womb. Her skin was translucent and her parents, Guadeloupe and Rita Velasquez had to dress her in doll clothes. Her mother said that doctors had no idea how she survived. She has been part of genetic studies and fascinated scientists throughout her life.
You can read about her at her website. http://www.aboutlizzie.com/
